The wedding day gets the big venue, but most of the real celebrating happens in the days before it – at home, on the society lawn or in the clubhouse. Haldi in the morning, Mehndi in the afternoon, Sangeet at night, a Roka or engagement dinner the week before. Each function has its own mood, its own guest list and its own menu, and each one needs to be ready on time while the family is busy with rituals.

Haldi Catering and Décor
Haldi is usually a morning or early-afternoon function with close family and friends. The food should be fresh, light and festive – nothing heavy that makes everyone sleepy before the next function.
Popular Haldi menus: welcome drinks like aam panna and shikanji, poori with aloo sabzi, paneer dishes, seasonal vegetables, dal, rice, raita, and sweets like gulab jamun or moong dal halwa. Many families prefer a satvik menu for Haldi – we prepare it on request.
Haldi décor: yellow and marigold backdrops, floral seating for the bride or groom, a flower shower setup, and a photo corner that photographers love.
Mehndi Catering and Décor
Mehndi runs for hours while the artists work, so guests snack continuously rather than sitting for one big meal. Live counters work best.
Popular Mehndi menus: live chaat counter with golgappe, papdi chaat and aloo tikki; pav bhaji; dosa or tawa counter; mocktails; and an evening dinner buffet for those who stay on. Finger food is easier for guests with fresh mehndi on their hands – we plan for that.
Mehndi décor: colourful drapes, umbrellas and floor seating with cushions, swing setups and a bright, playful colour palette.
Sangeet and Cocktail Night Catering
Sangeet is the big party before the wedding – music, performances, dancing and a long evening. The food has to keep up with the energy.
Popular Sangeet menus: passed starters through the performances, a mocktail and beverage bar, live counters for pasta, tandoori snacks and chaat, a full dinner buffet, and a dessert counter that stays open late.
Sangeet décor: stage and dance-floor décor, lighting, a performance backdrop, and seating planned around the stage.
Roka, Engagement and Tilak Functions
Roka and engagement ceremonies are smaller but important – the first formal meeting of both families. We cater these at home, in society clubhouses or at banquet halls with an elegant buffet, a ceremony setup and décor that suits the occasion. Tilak and Sagai functions follow the same approach, with traditional menus and satvik options when the family wants them.
A Typical Three-Day Function Plan
Here is how many Noida families spread their pre-wedding functions, and how we plan food for each:
Day 1 – Roka or Mehndi: an afternoon Mehndi at home or on the society lawn with live chaat, pav bhaji and mocktails, followed by a light dinner buffet for family who stay late.
Day 2 – Haldi and Sangeet: a satvik or light Haldi lunch in the morning, then a full Sangeet evening in the clubhouse with passed starters, live pasta and tandoor counters, dinner and desserts.
Day 3 – Wedding: the main wedding dinner at a banquet or farmhouse, often with a separate early meal for the families before the baraat.

A Recent Pre-Wedding Celebration: ATS Pristine, Sector 150
At ATS Pristine in Sector 150, we handled a full day of pre-wedding functions. The Haldi lunch served more than 100 guests with a fresh buffet of welcome drinks, salads, paneer dishes, seasonal vegetables, dal, rice, pooris and breads, gulab jamun and ice cream. In the evening, the Sangeet and cocktail night for more than 200 guests had a live chaat counter, pasta station, tandoori snacks, a mocktail bar, a full main course and a dessert counter – with bone-china crockery and a professional hospitality team throughout.

Wedding functions bring together several generations and often several regions. We regularly prepare satvik food without onion and garlic for pooja-linked functions, Jain-friendly dishes on request, mild versions of popular dishes for elders and children, and fasting-friendly options when a function falls on a vrat day.
